It can also occur when someone is rejected in such a cruel way that changes their entire world view and the way they look at the opposite sex. It may be because the person that rejected you will always be the one that got away.
It is no fun to suffer an Overejection , this can be prevented by letting someone down easy, be considerate of the people you reject.
