Get the pop musicmug. I said to my friends that I liked slipknot and I was laughed upon by them for like metal in the first place but of all metal slipknot. My friends are all a lot more intelligent than I am and listen to intelligent music like Experimental Darkambient, Trance Music and Noise. I'm a total moron but at least I like superficial simple metal like slipknot which is the best.

Get the slipknotmug. The most overated musician ever. Mozart is what is called: 'Mainstream Classical' other types like this are Bach and Beethoven etc. This is classical for people who've listened to nothing better. Modernday tranceproducer Arksun is musically more skilled than Mozart was in his day. Just because Mozart was the greatest of his days he is still remembert as a the musical genious of times but he is not, There are musicians far more skilled than mozart was nowadays. I like classical, don't get me wrong, yet Mozart is certainly not the musical genious he is acclaimed to be.

Get the mozartmug. Popular band associated with 'goth culture' though the latter of the two statements could (And should.. by the power of me. I command!) be perceived as false. Arguably while creating very accessible sounds which is in theory technically okay on CD. Is still unbearable to hear live as even some fans admit. Also the lead singer's voice would be without the infuence of Bush cause the Nato to attack America for not getting rid of unauthorised weapons of mass destruction. Although the editor of that voice is a very talented guy.
As said, the Evanescence sound is accesible, thus apeals to a wide audience and emotional and atmospheric complexity is kept to a minimal level. Amy Lee is partially responsible for an increase in depression reports as well amongst fans as amongst people who happen to posses radios although the validy of the claims of the prior one should not be taken seriously and should be laughed upon.
As also said the so called 'goth culture' it is associated with is a mistake maken by people who can't tell a pubical rebel dressed totally in black with extravagant apearance and heavily questionable intellectual abilities. From a goth who are mainly dressed totally in black with extravagant apearance and are able to - and will for the love of God do so whenever they have the chance - to demonstrate a highly developed range of knowledge and a philosphical way of approaching life.
With that said, altough the Evenescence listeres at least try to hide it with faking depression, all of the in the above paragraph subculture inhabitands generally think they're culture is the best in the world.
People who like Evanescence also have the intriging property of voting against urbandictionary difinitions which do not match there personal taste, thus this definition will probably be bannished to the final page.

Get the Evanescencemug. A shitty form of popular music on which virtually all subgenres rely on the 'as long as it sounds catchy' philosphy. Truly, atrocious popular youthmusic from which the listeners actually think its underground. A few subgenres that do not apply to that rule are technical metal, math metal and black metal
Metal relies on simple musical theory. Simple rithms, and certainly does not ask much virtuosis from the perform artist as well as compositional ability from the composer.
Some genres that would rise above this atrocity that is metal would be:
dark noise
tech trance
europian classical music
psybient
