The spanish word for someone you like romantically, but not technically dating or committed.

There's no english word for it, but the best word to describe it, is "pre-date"

Person 1: Are you guys dating?
Person 2: No
Person 1: Then why are you guys holding hands and kissing?
Person 2: Because she is my Quedante.
