burrowcrawler

A subterranean Agarashi. That means it's an ugly demonic thing with lots ot tentacles. Should be in an anime film but isn't (it's in book one of Joe Dever's Lone Wolf series, hiding under a hill). Pretty low combat skill, definitely beatable.
You have come to a hill. Do you want to:
1) go under the hill and get eaten by a Burrowcrawler, or
2) climb the hill and get eaten by a Kraan instead?

zlanbeast

a large monster from the Darklands, similar to a Kraan but bigger. The largest, Imperial Zlanbeast, are ridden by the Darklords themselves. Strangely, you can play all the Lone Wolf gamebooks and never actually get to fight one.
You see a zlanbeast from a distance.

As you battle on the bridge, a zlanbeast flies by overhead.

The zlanbeast flies away as the tower collapses.

You are in combat with a zlanbeast. (INCORRECT USE)

In the Spectrum game "Down to Earth", the Conenabs are cute little cyclops plant things which grow in clusters, multiply like randy maths teachers and explode when they get too numerous. Quite handy because the nasty aliens you're trying to kill sometimes hit them and blow up.
Oh bloody hell, there's another alien after me and I've only got two frigging lives left, there's some conenabs over there, I'm going to head for those. Oh shit, they've blown up and killed me.

Powermaster

A type of TransFormer which has a Nebulan companion (a small humanoid) which transforms into its engine in vehicle mode. This engine is needed to transform between modes, and/or to release other features of the robot.
Powermaster Optimus Prime could only transform out of lorry mode once his Nebulan companion, Hi-Q, was inserted as his engine.

Targetmaster

A type of TransFormer which has a Nebulan companion (a small humanoid robot - according to the stories, a humanoid in a robot suit) who transforms into its weapon. Sometimes refers to the robot, sometimes to its companion.
The targetmaster Slugslinger is a robot who turns into a two-cockpit aeroplane. His Nebulan companion can be held in robot mode or attached to the back of the plane.
