a small city known as East Palo Alto situated between Palo Alto and the San Francisco Bay. Formerly home to the US highest murder per captita rate, and such fine establishments as Whiskey Gulch. However, recently gentrification has been undertaken. This description is used by wealthy adolescents in Palo Alto to feel connected to a real poor area that they have no tangible connection to.
