1: They are on a snowboard whilst being a dick.
2: They are on a snowboard and acting like they own the whole mountain.
3: They are on a snowboard.
It's pretty easy to say this at just about anyone on a snowboard, because a large amount of snowboarders act like dicks. But sometimes, on the rarest of purple moons, the snowboarder may turn out to be a kind and considerate person. This, however, will not defeat slope discrimination.

anyone who snowboards. many (but not all) skiers hate snowboarders because they have only seen the snowboarders who either suck so much that they only slide down the mountain and scrape snow (but hey, they gotta start somewhere), or the cocky ones who only hit park all day long on good pow days and are assholes to skiers who are also in the park. its because of riders like this that skiers have created an extremely negative stereotype about snowboarders. these snowboarders account for about only 5%-45% of the snowboarders, depending on where you go. most of the skiers don't have friends who are true riders create and live by these stereotypes.
true riders:
dont bitch and whine about skiers all the time- they can be just as cool as us
dont hog up the park all day and sit down in landings
shred the pow when possible

Including moaning about skiers, if there were no skiers there would be no ski patrol, you would bash your head because you messed up on a jump that you had no idea how to do because you learnt snowboard tricks from SSX tricky on the playsation 2, and you would die on the mountain because no-body would get you down. If people didnt ski, then ski resorts would lose 80% of their income, and shut down. Most snowboarders who are actively involved in the sport or live in a resort have best friends who are skiers. Bad snowboarders are just as annoying on the hill as bad skiers. People who sit in the park and take an hour to build up the courage to hit a jump are far better than people who ride through the park, hit nothing, and then bitch about those people who are sat down. Calling a skier a bitch or a c*nt doesnt make you a cool snowboarder, it makes you a prick. Wearing ridiculous clothing and using words like 'steez' 'shred the gnar' and 'badass mother fucker' doesnt make you a snowboarder, it makes you sound like a retared ex-ganster. Snowboarding is a lifestyle choice, you choose to be unconcerned with politics and social crap, including belittling other people. You snowboard because it gives you a rush, because you like the peace and quiet of the hill, and because its fun, it has nothing to do with status. Yeah there are annoying things like skiers going slowly infront of you, get over it, and get good enough to go where they cant. Bitch less ride more.

The name comes from the fact that they are downright jerks, and they love snowboarding so much, that they could jerk off to it if they wanted to. Their major goal in life is to go pro (no pro snowboarder is a JOS).
The Style of a JOS: JOS's can be seen wearing the latest snowboarding gear. They have jackets and pants that match their board, bandanas, tinted goggles, gore tex gloves, and helmets. They have their own boards, usually the most expensive out there.
The behavior of a JOS: JOS's are as obnoxious, as they get. They like to yell and scream, usually while speeding down the trails, thus distracting the other people around them. They also like to watch people get hurt, and will drop snow on you from the lift, if they get the chance. If you bump into one on a trail, they will push you down and throw snow on you. If you fall on a trail, they will either use you as a human jump, or jump over you. They are disrespectful, and absolutely hate skiers. They can be found on any mountain, hitting up the terrain park, all day long.
