Simirun is a name that dates back to the early thirteenth century and comes from the Punjab. It was originally the name given to the purest gold that was found in the village of Pandori. The gold was deemed to have special magical powers which would bring good luck to anyone who touched it. As years passed, a Raja of India named his only daughter Simirun and it is said that whatever misfortune came her way it immediately turned into good.
