Play Dead 

Pretending to be drunk or passed out in a compromising situation in order to escape unintended consequences. Basically when someone is under the influence and uses the "I was really drunk excuse," in this case pretending to "pass out," in order to escape retribution from another individual or group.

Sam was getting a lap dance from Tim's girlfriend, Michelle, when Tim walked in. Sam decided to play dead and he told Tim the next morning that Michelle had given him a lap dance after he passed out.

To give up the will to try/the will to fight/or possibly stay silent/take the path of least resistance - but mainly to choose for whatever reason to throw in the towel on a situation where progression seems too difficult/daunting - my take on it anyway

Initially Tony could not face the thought of all the pain/work involved in reclaiming his life and mobility after his traffic accident .. So for awhile he could only 'Roll over and Play dead like a wounded animal may do.

Group of outcasts who like to cosplay as raccoons while looking for acceptance from their peers. Mostly bark with little to no bite. Often referred to as bottom tier when it comes to their craft.
