penseagrande

This word should always be followed by the assumption that the individual described as such does almost everything.
For example, an individual who is an architectural concept designer, fashion designer, food critic, composer, singer, dancer, mathematician, and poet would not be a penseagrande. If they were all these things and a philosopher they still not necessarily qualify. The requirement is that all their arts are actively used as the embodiment of their philosophy. These individuals are often skilled in all the arts and commonly virtuosic in more several. The emphasis on philosophy also means that their art often crosses into the sciences. These people are often eccentric because they are self aware in all that they do and thus develop a self culture that is expressive in ways that are not common.

Many multitalented art vlogers may fit into this category, especially those whose vlogs about their life and art are directed at conveying a worldview. But they do not simply have a worldview, which everyone does, but are actively engaging and refining it alongside and through their art.

An artist who is virtuosic in one art, is a philosopher, and embodies their worldview and philosophy in that art is not a grande because they only do one thing. Also note that they use their artistic PROCESS to communicate their worldview. Making the art is part of their art. For the penseagrande, art, artistic process, life, and philosophy are one.
penseagrande - n. “An interdisciplinary artist and philosopher who uses their artistic process to communicate their worldview. “

From the french “pense” meaning think, “à”, and “grande”, the feminine form of “grand” meaning tall or big( referring to their many artistic areas of mastery)

Leonardo da Vinci, is a descent example of a penseagrande except a full connection between life philosophy may have been lacking depending on your research.
Mozart is not a penseagrande because he was virtuosic in a single field.
Penseagrandes are often told at a young age that they need to choose one thing, but after finding that impossible, they decide to do it all.

Penseagrandes often struggle with disillusionment and depression due to their active minds and overly intentional lifestyle.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
