melotruous

A subtle and insidious manipulative tactic that insinuates doubt and poisons trust through calculated undertones, veiled remarks, and half-truths, often thriving in environments primed for suspicion. It gradually erodes the target’s credibility and relationships, all while avoiding direct confrontation and leaving the manipulator’s hands clean.

She played on the group's established norms and hierarchies to make me seem out of line, gradually isolating me from the others, all while appearing helpful and supportive.
