Refers to the once-great radio station known as WLIR, which used to broadcast in the New York City area and was one of the first radio stations in the United States to play bands like U2, The Police, The Cure, The Smiths, Depeche Mode and others. One of the last good commercial radio stations.

Lir is the definition of lyre in turkish. Which in greek mythology is the instrument that Apollo plays. It is a beautiful name which is not commonly used.
