to kick outside of one's coverage

To undertake an overly ambitious action that seems beyond one's capabilities.

An expression analogous to "his reach exceeds his grasp."

Etymology: From American football.
My girlfriend's way hotter than me. I'm totally kicking outside of my coverage.

To kick outside of one's coverage is a noble but often futile undertaking.

When you feel that desperate need to just hammer back that one last thing before your suppose to stop it forever.
Wife: “Your a fucking piss tank! Your fucking drunk right now! You piece of shit! You better stop your drinking or I’m going to leave!”

Degenerate husband: (grabs full 26oz of Smirnoff vodka from liquor cabinet)

“Ya ya ya, one more kick at the cat”

(Diesels half the 26oz of vodka)

Shackteâu

A Shackteau is a humble, weather-beaten, structurally questionable shelter located in a spectacular or highly coveted place—Wales, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, Crested Butte, coastal Maine, the Alps—where the building itself may be worth almost nothing, but the dirt, view, access, and mythology make it absurdly valuable.
In use:
Shackteâu - We thought it was an abandoned shed until the realtor called it a rare alpine Shackteâu with unobstructed views and listed it for $2 million.
