Middle School Roast
Beef Exchange, or IUMSRBE, was one of the most well-kept secrets of many Gen Z's middle school years. Originated in
2012 in the central
Ohio area, this trade among adolescents involved visiting Arby's approximately every six weeks. Those who are members of the Exchange, with knowledge of the secret menu, will
ask the Arby's employee for "just the meats". In doing so, they will receive six individually packaged slices of roast
beef. Once a week, after school, they were to trade a slice of the roast
beef for a JUUL pod with whomever they regularly "dealed" with. Members are never to miss a week, as the amateur market was growing at a rapid pace for nearly six years. If a week is missed, the user must wait for the six-week period to start again and then have their membership re-evaluated. The pods traded were never known to be of the best flavor or quality, and eventually Arby's was made known of this black market of sorts and were forced to shut it down.
