In Harry Potter, the Hufflepuff house is commonly seen as being the "worst" of the four houses, and therefore (generally) the most cowardly and unintelligent.

In the case of "hufflepuffing it", it would mean that one is being rather cowardly or incredibly stupid.

Emily, quit hufflepuffing it and just watch the zombie movie!

John was totally hufflepuffing it so he lost that match of laser tag!

Hufflepufflinity (HUFF-UL-PUFF-IN-IT-TY) is the recognition of how one is Hufflepuff (like a religion).
