A portmanteau of "fad" and "franchise". It refers to a media property that initially garnered massive hype and peaked in popularity before rapidly becoming irrelevant, widely mocked or outdated.

Where timeless classics succeed at maintaining long-term cultural relevance, fadchises fail to do so once the initial trend dies down.
Man: "Slender Man exploded into popularity that garnered a multimedia franchise. But over the years, it lost modern day relevance and became a fadchise."

fanchise

A fan of some series that seems to have permission from the original copyright holders to make merchandise, regardless of being parody or not.
It appears the creator of Yugioh:The Abridged Series has a fanchise going on. The creators of Yugioh apparently really liked his work, and he hasn't gotten in trouble for the merchandise that he sells even though some of it isn't really a parody.
