Mama's basement syndrome

Mama's basement syndrome is a psychological syndrome which primarily affects men who are acquiring masters degrees but who haven't moved out of their mother's basement yet. Symptoms include lack of self-esteem, self-doubt, guilt, fear for the future, sexual frustration and severe dependence on family members.
Richard is happy that he's getting his PhD in philosophy, but he also suffers from mama's basement syndrome and finds it very difficult to move out of his parents' house. He's afraid his girlfriend will leave him if she finds out where he really lives.

Lauren's basement

This meme originated from the Voltron: Legendary Defender fandom when one of the voice actors, specifically Jeremy Shada, accidentally spills a spoiler. Then, someone started a meme that Lauren Montgomery, one of the executive staff, is going to lock Jeremy up in her basement to prevent him from saying anything more. So now, whenever someone from the show spills a spoiler, fans say that they're going to get locked up in Lauren's basement.
Person 1: Hey, have you watched the interview between the main casts of Voltron?

Person 2: I did. Jeremy's going to go back to Lauren's basement again.

mom's basement

Stereotypical home for the geek, nerd, fatbeard, loser, etc. The term implies that the individual still lives with one or both of his parents despite being a grown man. Reasons for still living at home may include a lack of drive and ambition, being unable to afford a place of his own due to spending all of his money on his hobbies (i.e. Star Trek figurines, comic books, and online role-playing games), or just plain being a mama's boy.
"Jeff is such a loser. He really needs to move out of his mom's basement and work on getting laid rather than spending every free minute playing World of Warcraft."
