Wylie Boy

He's the West Texas Republican extremist that went through a perm and/or mullet phase that cursed their 8th-11th grade school pictures. He may know what a real steak is, but he can't get any meat on his bones. Often times, he can be found lonely playing Warzone or conspiring with his 'homies' at a bonfire. He likes to wear shoes Mommy bought for him, Pit Vipers, old Little League shirts and the sweatshirt he let his ex borrow. His girlfriend is probably taller than him and he thinks he's cool if he has peach fuzz. He gets his first real growth spurt at about 15 or 16 years old. His ego can be bigger than his future. He goes to church but doesn't act like it. His biggest fears are chivalry, being in a serious relationship and females. Sometimes he may cheat on his girlfriend with another guy or girl. They are just...built different.

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.
