When the steering wheel was first put into use in automobiles, it was called the "whip". The whip is what you used to control the horses on a stagecoach, hence the analogy. Many years later, various hip hop artists noticed that the Mercedes-Benz logo resembled a steering wheel. They then proceeded to use the old term "whip" to describe any Mercedes-Benz vehicle. The term has now been generalized to classify any expensive automobile.

A whip can refer to many different things.
1. Something to hit your spouse with during intercourse
2. A car, usually used as slang.
3. As of 2015 it's a dance. ( you kick your left leg outwards and then as you stomp your foot down your right arm comes straight out in front of you and you slowly bounce/sway your body to the left
1. Jade: "I know I've been naughty but do you have to get the whip?"
2. Josh: "Yo Baby! Momma let me take the whip for a spin, want me to come scoop?"
3. Cameron: "Dude this party is about to be so hot! We definitely have to do the whip while we're there."

Currently the most overly used word to describe ones car regardless of the cars make or model. It's most commonly used in "Ricer" rags or on MTV Cribs by soon-to-be bankrupt rappers that no one besides MTV has heard of. Not to be confused with "Rides" which is another trendy word for cars, which makes more sense, but still should not be used by anyone with an IQ higher than 20.
Future Chapter-7 rapper-Now that you have seen the inside of my crib, lets go take a look at my whips, that are 60 days past due payment and on the verge of repossession.
