A pejorative term used to discredit a a situation or something that would not have naturally occurred unless there was some form of external (usually progressive) intervention.

Person A (Virtue Signalling): Did you hear that there's going to be a Down Syndrome drag show?
Person B (Pragmatist): Did you hear cats choose to be vegan?
Person A: I've never heard of that.
Person B: That's because vegan cats don't exist, and $5 says those kids didn't come up with at idea either.
