A form of honeypot designed specifically to gain the trust of multiple users for exploitation—a server, community, or group created to appear welcoming, supportive, and safe, while actually being a trap for the trusting. A trustpot might present itself as a mental health support group, a friendship community, a mentoring space. In reality, it's run by people who get their satisfaction from betrayal: learning secrets, building dependencies, then crushing them. Users join seeking belonging; they leave traumatized, their trust destroyed, their vulnerabilities weaponized.
Example: "The 'kindness community' seemed like a refuge—warm, supportive, full of people who genuinely cared. Users shared their struggles, their dreams, their fears. The moderators were always there, always listening, always validating. Then, one day, the server closed—and all the private conversations appeared on a hate site. The trustpot had been harvested. The community wasn't kind; it was a crop."

A form of goalpost manipulation where the ultimate objective is to gain and then exploit a user's trust. The trustpost is the moving standard of intimacy, the shifting boundary of what feels safe to share. First, the target shares surface details. The baiter reciprocates, building reciprocity. Then deeper details. More reciprocation. Then vulnerabilities. Then secrets. Each step, the post moves—what's normal to share expands, what feels safe grows—until the target has given everything. At that moment, the post stops moving, and the exploitation begins. The trustpost has done its work: created intimacy as a trap.
Example: "She'd been hurt before and trusted slowly. He understood, he said. He shared his own vulnerabilities first, modeling trust. She shared a little. He shared more. She shared more. Months passed, and she'd told him everything—her trauma, her fears, her dreams. Then he asked for money. She refused. He threatened to expose her secrets. The trustpost had moved gradually, inevitably, until she'd given him everything he needed to destroy her. Trust had been the bait; betrayal was the hook."
