throw the goat

As pointed out previously, to "throw the goat", you need to extend your index finger and your pinkey (as if you're pointing at something with those fingers), while also curling your middle and ring fingers down until they touch your palm. Your thumb is then placed over those two fingers.

You can then display this in one of two typical ways.

The first way is by holding your hand out in front of you, with the index and pinky fingers pointing upward and the other fingers and thumb pointing away from you.

The second is by holding your hand extended above your head, with the index and pinky fingers pointing upward and the other fingers and thumb pointing away from you, and then waving your hand forward and back, forward and back, over and over again in a rapid, fluid motion (this is actually the "throw" part of the phrase) - at a rock music concert, this motion is typically performed to the beat or rhythm of the music or lyrics.

"Throwing the goat" originated at early heavy metal rock concerts, and originally symbolize the horns of The Goat, i.e. the Devil or Satan. It has since lost that meaning to some degree. It now is often used to denote that something, someone or something someone has said, is cool. In a similar way, it often means something along the lines of rock on! Etc.
All the guys at the Slayer concert were throwing the goat in rhythm with the drums.

Throw The Goat

To throw the goat, you need to extend your index finger and your pinkey, while curling your middle and ring fingers down until they touch your palm. Your thumb is then placed over those two fingers as a guard to prevent them from flying out of position and perhaps causing injury.
On WWdN (wilwheaton.net), Wil, recanting a conversation with Brent Spiner, says: "I smiled as I watched him go, but, in my mind, I was throwing the goat.

Shackteâu

A Shackteau is a humble, weather-beaten, structurally questionable shelter located in a spectacular or highly coveted place—Wales, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, Crested Butte, coastal Maine, the Alps—where the building itself may be worth almost nothing, but the dirt, view, access, and mythology make it absurdly valuable.
In use:
Shackteâu - We thought it was an abandoned shed until the realtor called it a rare alpine Shackteâu with unobstructed views and listed it for $2 million.
