A fake widescreen process that mats out the screen to give an aspect ratio of 2.35:1.
Super 35 is gay! To get a true widescreen movie with an aspect ratio of 2.35:1, you must either use an anamorphic process, such as Panavision, Cinemascope, or J-D-C Scope, or film the movie directly onto 65mm film (Todd-AO or Panavision Super 70 processes). Sadly, Hollywood uses this format, because it's cheaper.
