A race of extremely advanced, diabolical, twisted- but for some reason immensly posh- robots sent back from the future in the guise of physics teachers so as to corrupt the youth of today. Their most notorious weapon is their lethal voice (stolen from future Cambridge professors, as it happens), which can obliterate even the most innocent minds with a cry of 'STTAAARRRR'. However, as represented by the colour of their ties, they are prone to changing allegiance (like a certain political figure cough clegg cough).

Get the Katy Seddon mug.
A medical condition characterised by Arnold's triad of diarrhoea, palpitations and anxiety. It is seasonal disorder typically more prevalent in the months April-May.
The classical presentation is of a young man with Type 1 Skin, dysarthria, short stature and cachexia.
Management is essentially prophylactic, with long term library attendance shown to be effective in controlling the symptoms. Currently an ongoing trial is comparing the effacy of HDL v MBSL (Heath Duthie Library vs Main Building Science Library). Self administration of Bolus OnExamination has revolutionised the management of the most severe complication of Seddon Syndrome, status examicus.
The disease characteristically follows a chronic, relapsing course. Acute exacerbations are often followed by a recovery phase where they may be excessive drinking and increased promiscuity. Status ladicus has been reported (Case report, Mumby et al 2010). It is believed that this may confer an evolutionary advantage and result in the propogation of the syndrome.

Pompous ambition or absurd pretension. Trying to present something as important, substantial, prestigious, or authoritative to an absurdly undeserved degree. Originally derives from Richard Seddon, Prime Minister of New Zealand from 1893 to 1906 and saw some use in that country during his time in office. Revived in 2025 by the YouTube cooking show Tasting History with Max Miller.
Someone who engages in seddonism, especially in elevating themselves, is a seddonist.

The modern "influencer" is the embodiment of pure, distilled seddonism.
That politician's platform is nothing but empty populism and seddonism.
