Originally from the tv show Mom, meaning to keep driving on an empty tank of gas. However now it’s used to mean when you know something is over but you haven’t left yet.
“I thought you got fired?”
“Not yet, but I’m riding the zero.”
“How is your relationship going?”
“We are basically riding the zero at this point.”
