Jesse Thomas Lacey. Lead singer of the band Brand New. Witty rhymes and metaphors are the foundation of the lyrics that Lacey has ridden to fame over the years. Your Favorite Weapon, Deja Entendu, The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me. Before Brand New, he played in The Rookie Lot, featuring fellow Brand New bassist Garrett Tierney and drummer Brian Lane as well as future MovieLife members. Previous to this, he had a short spell in Taking Back Sunday where he played bass and backing vocals on old records.

The lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for the pop-punk emo outfit, Brand New. Known for his bitter lyrics that appear on Brand New's first full length, Your Favorite Weapon (2000), as well as his deeper, more despondent stories told on Deja Entendu (2003). Jesse is also best friends with John Nolan (ex- Taking Back Sunday singer /guitarist /songwriter, current Straylight Run singer /guitarist /keyboardist /songwriter) and he makes references to this friendship, or at one point, lack thereof, in the song Seventy Times Seven.

Jesse Lacey is a Great Songwriter. Great Voice. He changed the music scene.

Lyricist, singer and guitarist of a Punk/Emo-Depressive band, Brand New. His lyrics stand out from most punk/emo bands because they appear more sincere and it also seems like hes taken more than 4 seconds to think them up and put them into an order. He manages to escape the negative "emo" brand simply because his lyrics are not as self-indulgent and dragged out in delivery, not mentioning any names (MCR,FFTL).

"Play Crack The Sky" epitomizes Jesse Lacey's abilities as a lyricist and story-teller.
