Internet Protocol camera. Netcam. It's CCTV without the closed circuit. These cameras maintain a constant connection to the internet. Many have minimal to no security, though awareness of widespread hacks has led to generally better security across the sector. As of current, there exist websites cataloguing every such vulnerable camera on the internet.

Other websites record video from these IP Cams for many reasons. Some individuals record nonsecure IP Cam feeds to blackmail, extort, sell, conduct corporate espionage, or for other often voyeuristic purposes.
