Post grunge, alternative rock band formed in 1993 in Phoenix, Arizona. The band was started by two important people: Chester Bennington (vocalist) and Sean Dowdell (drummer). The rest of the band contains Jason Barnes (guitarist) and Mace Beyers (bassist). They were called "Sean Dowdell and His Friends?" but after three track cassette they changed it to "Grey Daze".
Jason left the band and was replaced by Bobby Benish as a lead guitarist. During seven years spent as a band they released two albums - Wake me (1994) and No sun today (1997).
In 1999 Chester joined Hybrid Theory later renamed to Linkin Park.
Old tracks by Grey Daze were remastered by Linkin Park.

A great band. The band has long since broken up. It's lead singer, Chester Bennington, joined the band Linkin Park (another great band, IMO). Another member, whose name I forget, has passed away.
The sound is nothing like Linkin Park's music, so don't expect that. Its very soft and slow. No rap elements at all.
Some Grey Daze songs, like 'Broken Glas', are said to be early Linkin Park stuff. This is not true at all. The only thing linking Grey Daze and LP is Chester's singing. And the singing styles are entirely different as well.

Simply Put, the best band in the world, ever.
Unfortunately they split up, and the lead singer (Chester Bennington) joined Linkin Park and his career went downhill (In terms of the actualy music being put out - not sales)

One who doesn't have any desire including the libido and gaze around the pure eternal darkness and emptiness findin' somethin' genuine.
Houdini : Look that guy.... he's always been lost his own little world of imagination.
Hex : Yeah..., might be a grey daze!
