A slang term to refer to the Kansas Jayhawks coined by Missouri Tiger fans who appreciate the intense rivalry.
I'd rather not be a sports fan than to have to root for the Gayhawks.
Gayhawk by Jeff October 27, 2004
Noun, a varied form of the fauxhawk that is sported by obvious douchebags. Often accompanied by Hollister wear and shell jewelry. The gayhawk itself has the same characteristics as the traditional Mohawk, but the individual does not have the courage to shave the sides of his head. The majority of gayhawks are bleached or highlighted, adding to the douchery.
Person 1: Did you see Andrew's new haircut?
Person 2: Yeah, it's a total gayhawk!
Person 1: Totally. He looks like a douchebag skunk!

Rock Chalk Gayhawk

A term derived from the original catch phrase "Rock Chalk Jayhawk", seeking to illustrate the excessively homosexual behavior of those associated with Kansas University. Bill Self's hairpiece, K State tearing down KU's goalpost, and Rick Mangino all serve to manifest this absurdly gay activity.
The KU quarterback was sacked in the end zone and got up with a massive chunk of dirt caught in his helmet, looking like a true rock chalk gayhawk.

"Hey Mom, why are those two men dressed in the blue and red holding hands and skipping through the park"? "Oh don't mind them, honey, they're just a couple of gayhawks".

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.
