ESWC is the acronym for “Electronic Sports World Cup” (registered trademark in 50 countries):

* More than 1 million $ of prize money given to video games champions since the first edition
ESWC is one of the leading video games worldwide competitions. Basic concept:
* ESWC is a credible Sanctioning Body for video games competitions as independent organization, pioneer and opinion leader in gaming since 1999
* ESWC choose games titles fitted for video games competition on PC or consoles
* ESWC federate national competition organizers in over 40 countries each year
* The national organizers produce tournaments (lan, online, in gaming centers...)
* ESWC.COM (online portal) gathers all results, news, calendar…
* The national organizers produce National Finals with the best gamers of their countries
* ESWC gathers all the national champions in International events like ESWC Grand Final, or ESWC Masters, 1 to 3 times per year
Each ESWC Grand Final is:
* A competition with PC/Consoles provided to the champions, accommodations provided to the champions, no fee of registration for the champions
* A show on stage open to public and spectators broadcasted across all media platforms including TV, IPTV, Mobile, Internet and gaming devices
* A show open to public to test games or participate to open tournaments on video games

The ESWC Organizing Committee announced today that the 7th Grand Final of the ongoing season is delayed to the end of the year.
The current global economic context is not favorable to the organization of the event in June in Paris as previous. More time is necessary to finance and prepare properly the project. New dates and location shall be announced in the upcoming months.
The ESWC Grand Final has been organized successfully the last 6 years in the Futuroscope of France for the 2 first editions, 3 years in Paris (at the Carrousel du Louvre in 2005, in Bercy in 2006, Porte de Versailles in 2007), and last year in San José, CA, USA.
