doing the dog

Popular and traditional British game, doing the dog, (mostly played in the Wessex counties) whereby 2 players depart a pub and walk home in opposite directions. At regular intervals of 30 to 60 seconds player one will shout "Can you hear me now?" followed by an impression of a dog, wolf or other member of the canine family. Player 2 responds to his call with "YES, CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!?" followed by his dog impression. The game continues until a) There is such a distance between players that they can no longer "hear me now", or b) one or both players are arrested.

What the dog doin

"What the dog doin?" is a term often used to describe utter confusion of an act that the canine seems to be committing. The dog could be walking, peeing, shitting or generally doing what a dog does. Though, people tend find themselves holding back from saying "what the dog doin?" when seeing a dog doing something rather mundane.
A: "Yo look! what the dog doin?" - "he acting a bit sussy now innit?"
B: "he's just pissing.."

A: "what he doin tho?!"

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.

Pee Calculus

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.
I saw Satantango last night, wonderful film but by the 5th hour I had to start doing pee calculus.
