Classical Music

A truly beautiful style of music that has lasted for centuries. A style of European art music from the 17th to 18th centuries. Listen to "Winter" by Antonio Vivaldi. It's a masterpiece.

While it is a beautiful style of music, many people look down on many other genres because of it. You can't label every genre as bad just because there are some bad songs from it. I see a lot of talk about rap on this page, and many of criticisms I see come from pure ignorance. Listen to "Eye Know" by De La Soul, and you'll see that not all of it is bad.
Music snob: Classical music is the only real style of music there is.

Open-minded person: I agree that it's very beautiful, but I think you're speaking from ignorance. There's some pretty good rap music out there too if you look hard enough.

Music snob: Rap isn't real music!

Open-minded person: Smh.

Classical Music

A genre containing brilliant, timeless works by musical geniuses such as Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Wagner, and a whole host of other European dudes you've probably never heard of. Absolutely brilliant music, especially considering the difficulty a person had to go through to compose before electric instruments and computers. Technically, "Classical Music" refers to the instrumental music of the 1750-1825 period, containing composers like Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, but nowadays the term covers pretty much all music made with orchestras.

Also, a word used by upper class snobs used to justify their shitty intellectual tastes in music that they only listen to because they want to consider themselves to be educated and classy. Some composers of classical music, such as those of the atonal and serialist genres, deliberately make their music as out of key and musically senseless as humanly possible, and then justify it because it's "intellectual", and took a lot of intelligence and effort to create. The proponents of this form of music then go out and loudly proclaim how their musical tastes are far superior to those of the common unwashed plebeians, who dirty their ears with foul peasant music like rock, or even *scoff* "rap".

These musically educated persons then retire to their weekly top hat appreciation parties and discuss with other like minded individuals about kids these days have no respect for their elders.
I personally think that classical music can be utterly brilliant, but the classical music enthusiasts who constantly insist that they're intellectually and musically superior to everyone else just piss me off.

Classical Music

The Classical Period in music lasted from 1750 to 1820, falling in between the Baroque and Romantic eras; however, the term "classical music" has become synonymous with all instrumental music composed during the middle ages. Notable composers include Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, and many more. Although music from this era has endured considerable bias in today's modern world, with many idiots saying it's "not cool", I see no reason at all to propagate reverse discrimination and immediately start bashing rap for "having no emotion" and stating that classical music is the only "real" music. Shit like that is only furthering the image of classical music fans as closed-minded elitist snobs who refuse to try anything else. I happen to enjoy both rap AND classical music as well as many other genres, and I can tell you that if you look beyond no-talent asswipes like Soulja Boy, rap is a very enjoyable listening experience that deserves respect like any other genre. As for having "no emotion" - listen to Mockingbird by Eminem, or Dear Mama by Tupac, and then try telling me that rap is all meaningless garbage about bitches and bling. Rap can be poetry... or it can be the meaningless shit that is played on our radio stations all day long, the crap that will be forgotten in a few years to make way for the newest fad. If you're a true fan of music, you won't be a closed-minded fucktard like the person who wrote the first definition. The classical music we hear today is still remembered and loved because it was the best of the best - do you honestly think that there weren’t no-talent idiots back then as well? There were ALWAYS people like that, but we don't hear about them because they were all executed by the king as soon he got bored of his latest fad. It's the same thing with today’s music. In a few centuries or so, assuming humans haven’t died out by then, the artists that will be remembered and studied are the Eminems and Tupacs, the Pink Floyds and the Led Zeppelins - all the greats will be remembered and studied, alongside composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach. In three hundred years, no one will have heard of Soulja Shit or 50 Cent. So stop being assholes about rap, because you are only forcing a bad reputation upon the fans that actually happen to have more than half a brain.
Cool Person 1: I like classical music.
Cool Person 2: Really? Me too! I also like rap, rock, techno and country!
Cool Person 1: Yeah, me as well!
Stupid fucking retard 1: Your musical taste SUCKS ASS! I ONLY listen to classical music, because it is the only REAL music ever made!
Stupid fucking retard 2: No, you’re ALL wrong. Rock is the only REAL genre!
*The retards proceed to stand there arguing for the rest of the day.*
Cool Person 1: …right, that was annoying. Wanna go get lunch?
Cool Person 2: Sure.
*The cool people leave. Meanwhile, the retards continue to argue.*

Classical Music

A type of music that surpasses all others because it doesn't involve computer generated beats and even more shockingly, no lyrics about bustin' a whitey's ass with lead!

Rap has no true emotion behind it. True composers like Gustav Mahler and Dmitri Shostakovich were intelligent and put real emotion into their music. Rap doesn't have any feeling so it makes you think of nothing while you are listening to it. Classical does contain lyrics in the case of Opera and Church music and if you don’t understand the language, that’s YOUR fault!

The majority of listeners are intelligent people who refuse to listen to Rap because of how bad it sounds. Classical music is still being composed today and has never been better. Some modern composers are Leondard Bernstein and John Rutter.

Everybody knows that Rappers got famous because the majority of moron Americans would rather listen to “Come and lick my lollipop, you ho!” rather than listen to true beautiful emotion classical music.

Anyone can rap:
1: Think of some horrible lyrics about violence, drugs, rape, and misogyny
2: Repeat step 1 six times
3: Invite 5 of ya gang around
4: Give them a microphone and and a synthesizer
5: Give each person a different sheet with random notes
6: Record the result
7: Get some dumbass MTV person to broadcast your shit.

Most movies these days only use classical music a.k.a. real music rather than that fucking rap shit like 8 Mile, the worst movie ever made.

The reason classical is only played during movies nowadays is because:
1: If they played rap, people would die
2: The movie industry is too civilized for Rap.
3: Rap artists like 50 cent have too many hoes to fuck and ain’t got no time to to movie music.

Classical will remain popular whereas in about 10 years rap will go out of style. People have been fans of classical music for centuries!

Classical is not boring. There’s more to classical than slow violin and piano pieces. Have you ever heard Shostakovich? Have you ever heard Mahler? I suggest buying “Shostakovich Symphony No. 4” and tell me what you think!
Non-music: 50 cent, Chingy, Nelly, Ludacris, Ja Rule, The Game, and all that other shit!

Music: Gustav Mahler, Dmitri Shostakovich, Sergei Rachmaninov, Peter Tchaikovsky, Camille Saint-Saens, Johann Bach, Wolfgang Mozart, Ludwig Beethoven, and much more…

Classical Music

As a historical period, it is the period of time between about 1750 and 1815. The beginning of the classical period of music was marked by the death of Johann Sebastian Bach. It is characterized by very simple melody lines over a basic accompaniment, often utilizing motifs and sequencing with strict structure and form applied. The Grand Daddy of the classical era is considered to be Joseph Haydn, who has been given the nickname's "Father of the String Quartet", and "Father of the Symphony". Ludwig van Beethoven is also a prolific composer from this period of music, though Beethoven is given more credit for being the leader of the transition into the Romantic period, due to his odd ways of composition which became noticeable has he lost his hearing.

In general terms, classical is used to characterize music written before what is considered to be the contemporary genre of music, specifically music written before 1915. Suffice it to say that it takes an enormous amount of skill to be a classically trained musician. Listen to the Chopin Scherzo in B-flat Minor, or the Beethoven "Waldstein" Sonata. For more recent "classical", listen to Prokofiev, or even the wonderful Gyorgy Ligeti, who died recently in 2006. Classical music is very much alive and it is the reason we have the music we have today. And don't do what a stupid youtuber did once and tell someone opera sucks, therefore Justin Bieber has more skill than a Soprano soloist singing Mozart operas.
Anything Mozart, anything Haydn, and thousands of other composers, including Beethoven before he was about 30, is considered Classical Music.

Classical Music

The best genre of music EVER. It has many notable composers such as Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Bach, Prokofiev, Saint-Saens and more. It is the most complex type of music and most pieces are so beautiful and gentle. Some other are violent, whereas some others are a waltz.

Classical music is so underrated and stereotyped as boring. It's fucking not you dumb idiots. Take a look at fucking Stravinsky, The Rite of Spring. Or how bout' Liszt, huh?

Regardless, give a go and listen to it. Some recommendations are, for violent, Liszt, Rachmanioff, Brahms, Stravinsky, Saint-Saens, Shostakovich, Berlioz, Prokofiev, Ysaye, etc. For gentle you can choose Chopin, Franck, Debussy, Ravel (most works), Mozart, etc. Other composers that are in an in-between are Beethoven, Bach, Handel, Schubert, Schumann, Grieg, etc.
I love to use classical music for studying and sleeping.
