Bill Gates syndrome

A disease suffered by kids nowadays, the symptom is delusional thinking if they're dropping out from school/college and start a business, they can be as successful as Bill Gates

Synonyms: college dropouts syndrome, school dropouts syndrome, Steve Jobs syndrome, Mark Zuckerberg syndrome, Kanye West syndrome, survivorship bias
How to cure people with Bill Gates syndrome:
Give them a reality check:
1. Entrepreneurship is not for everyone
2. Your business will never take on Apple, let alone Microsoft or the Purple (AstraZeneca), and you won't noticed on Forbes magazine, let alone as a cover model

3. Stay in school, the best is yet to come

Bill Gates Syndrome

When you sucked at school or dropped out while your friends didn't, either because you were lazy, poor, or slow (or a mix of two or the three).... and later on it turns out you owned them (whatever the meaning) and they're pretty much in shit.
Steven: Me and my brother both dropped out in 10th grade.. but 15 years later we now co-own a bitchass enterprise and make millions a year. Dylxseia can go kiss my ass.

Laura: Sounds like a case of Bill Gates Syndrome.. :P

Fogey/fogy /fougi/ sl. (early 18C+, orig. Scot) old-fashioned, stuck-in-the mud.
Person with old fashioned ideas which he is unwilling to change: Come to the disco and stop being such an old fogey!
You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
