Bamboo is the same as broccoli in reference to weed but is not a direct slang for weed. This term is used when wanting to reference weed in an indirect, obscure way that only certain people will understand.
"Bamboo = Broccoli" and "Broccoli = Weed", but Bamboo does not equal Weed.

Bamboo is a grass which grows fastest in the world. It can grow up to 3 feet in 24 hours. But it starts growing after more than a year. The explanation is that it needs strong roots which take long to grow. If it started growing the body of it without a root, it would fall down and never grow upward!

A politically correct curse word. Modeled after an episode of Man VS Wild in which Bear Grylls attempts to craft a windsurfer out of bamboo. After unsuccessfully attempted to break off pieces of bamboo for a long time, he screams out "AAAARRRRRGGGGG BAAAAMMMMMBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOO!!!" in pure frustration.

An Asian's morning wood.
person 1: "He had such a hard on this morning."
person 2: "He's asian right?"
person 1: "Yeah?"
person 2: "So would you call his morning wood a bamboo?"
