When you set the stage for a dad joke but shut it down before the joke becomes a dad joke.

Me: I'm tired...
My dad: Hi tired, I'm--
Me: No dad joke!
My dad: Dammit.

Dad jokes are cheesy jokes that are stereotypically jokes parents say.

Child: Hey Dad, I'm hungry!

Father: Hi hungry, I'm Dad.

Child: That's the worst and most overused dad joke.

inself joke

An Inside joke that you have with yourself, and no-one else.
Typical of people with no friends or imaginary friends.

Person 1: 'heeheehee... Yoga Pants...'
Person 2: 'what are you laughing at?'
Person 1: 'Inself Joke dude... heeheeehee.'
Person 2: 'weirdo'
Person 3: 'I bet he has no friends.'

When a joke falls so flat that one feels unregrettable shame for its very conception.

Tim's joke fell so flat with his friends that they made him feel joke shamed.

A term used after any joke referring to or having to do with a butt; gay sex; or anal.

Ryan: (Pause)

Steve: "And I'll be the captian"

outside joke

A joke that is only funny to parties that are not involved in the joke, but is depressing, frustrating, or simply not funny to parties that are involved in the joke. It is essentially the opposite of an inside joke.

Insider: I can't believe I sharted in my pants during jury duty.
Outsider: HAHAHAHAHA!
Insider: *Grrr* Yeah, I guess it's kind of an outside joke.
