"Standard and Poors" is a credit rating agency; Standard & Poor's issues credit ratings for the debt of companies. As such, it has designated a Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organization by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
It issues both short-term and long-term credit ratings.
It also publishes financial research and analysis on stocks and bonds. It is one of the top three players in this business, along with Moody's and Fitch Ratings.
It is also well known for its US-based S&P 500 and the Australian S&P 200 stock market index.

A nickname for a creepy logo for Screen Gems consisting of two dark-red paralellograms, one zooming in and one zooming out to form an 'S' around a dot on a sunny yellow background, and using an eerie synthesized violin jingle in the background. Some refer to the logo as Scream Gems.

Originally used by sailors as a distress signal/code meaning Save Our Ship, hence S.O.S.

Sailor: "Captain...the ship is taking in too much water..."

Captain: "Send a S.O.S. transmition to the base..."

Sailor: "Ay-Ay Captain!"

S.U.F.A.

SUFA stands for "Shut Up Fat Ass". It came into the internet world from the FFI forums when some one said shut up fat ass and then someone to joke around replied "SUFA!". Therfor the meaning of SUFA has come into internet talk ,but still isnt known by many.
