skiffy

Onomatopoeia for the word sci-fi as a derogatory label towards the softer forms of science fiction (i.e. space opera, science fantasy, Doctor Who, the Marvel/DC Comics universes, etc.). Most users of the word are purists that reject anything not grounded in some semblance of reality (or, failing that, fringe science).

The Sci-Fi Channel became total skiffy the moment they renamed to SyFy.

a noun to describe a person or persons who shuffle their feet when they walk at a slow speed, causing pedestrian traffic, usually at the annoyance of people walking behind them. They also stop wherever they want, regardless if they are blocking a door, an escalator or entrance to a store/building.

The short stride foot shuffle that you see commonly see bums performing around Portland Oregon , not To be confused with the Parkinson's Shuffle. To identify the PDX Shuffle first; look for the rubbing of the index fingers and thumbs together like they are asking for a penny, secondly; Often times shuffle and finger rub is accompanied by the smell of week old urine, fecal matter, and faint vocalizations of what sounds like the chanting of buddist monks.

The only thing I heard last night was the sound of the PDX shuffle
