Ballin' Backwards

Balling or ballin' backwards is best defined as losing ground, wasting time and/or resources, failing to progress in life and instead decreasing in power and influence while thinking you are being wise and progressing.

ALSO Making poor decisions which ultimately place you in a position of losing the progress you've have made in life or love. Said losses may be financial, emotional, social, physical, mental, and more. The end result is that you are playing the Game of Life very badly and not moving forward to be greater later, but instead standing still while others move past you, or actually exhibiting behaviors and making choices that make you lose ground.

After they broke up, Sheila was doing well - went back o school, bot a better job and was planning to buy a house. But when Malik came begging she let him back into her life and now she has no education, got evicted, and he spent the money she'd saved on some wild scheme to "start a business." That girl is working so hard but seriously ballin' backwards!
