Idiot Box 

The television, and in all it's glory of propaganda and dumbing a society down. It is the ultimate weapon of mass distraction and can make anyone and any person hate anybody.

The term is often used by people that can see that the TV makes others stupid who believe anything and everything they see on TV as a fact even if it's fiction.

Term is also used to define people who waste their time all day flipping channels and watching junk instead of doing something useful with their lives.

A good case of the Idiot Box is this; in the 70's many people wrote letters to the Navy and Coastguard telling them to go rescue Gilligan and the others off their island.

Once upon a time there was people who went to the Beverly Hills with their only goal to knock on the door of the mansion used in the Beverly Hillbillies show and ask for Jeb or Granny. No wonder the owners got tired of it and sold the house!

idiot light 

An indicator light or illuminated signal, usually colored red, yellow, or orange, on a vehicle dashboard intended to convey a condition of which the driver should be aware. Most frequently, it indicates a system malfunction or a potentially dangerous condition (e.g., low oil pressure, high coolant temperature). It may be a word or words ("Charge"; "Check Engine") or a symbol which may or may not be readily identifiable.

The derisive term comes from the fact that such lights typically take the place of a gauge, meter or other indicator that can provide more substantive and detailed information. The binary (on/off) nature of the light is considered inferior to an indicator which provides data on the condition, but which requires some interpretive thought by the operator.)

Idiot Father Syndrome 

A father, who does not believe anything you tell him. The most common example of this is not believing logic, science or not believing proven science or logic or anything else for that matter.

This is a Example of Idiot Father Syndrome.

(Father with IFS) Don't drip water on the carpet, it will stain.

Idiot Tax 

A voluntary tax that is quite popular, usually used for education. The Idiot Tax may be paid in $1, $2, $5 or $10 increments but combinations are possible. The greater the idiot one is, the greater the tax one pays. Idiot Tax receipts can be scratch-off or have a combination of numbers. Also known as the lottery.

There are poeple who come into the store who pay $50-60/week in Idiot Tax.

Idiot Paradox 

A theory that states that the more stupid a person is, the more intelligent they are likely to think they are. This is caused by their incredibly narrow perspective of the world making them think that they know a hell of a lot. For someone to understand that they are stupid requires a certain kind of enlightenment - that they know relatively little - that is unavailable to stupid people.

Therefore, it is impossible for a truly stupid person to be able to admit that they are stupid.

Did you read that book he just wrote? It's too bad the Idiot Paradox won't allow him to realize that it'd be better suited as a toilet paper dispenser.
