In a Taleb distribution, a single observation can change the mean; history is made by outliers; the typical is irrelevant. The theory is the mathematical foundation of the Black Swan worldview, the proof that we live in a world where what we don't know matters more than what we do. It's statistics for a world that defies statistics.
Example: "He'd been trained on normal distributions, where means are stable and outliers are rare. Taleb Distribution Theory showed him a different world: where one event can change everything, where what you haven't seen matters more than what you have. His old tools were useless here.
