Unterview

An interview where it becomes obvious that the organization has already selected someone for the position and you are only being interviewed to fulfill legal hiring requirements and make the process seem "fair". Typically you will see this in government hiring.

"I think my interview yesterday was actually an unterview; they only asked me three questions and didn't request any writing samples or references. It was obvious I'm not actually being considered."

"The supervisor has told me that I'm getting the position but they still need to unterview three other people or HR will be up their asses."
