A hospitalist or non-critical care physician who pretends to be, or thinks he/she is an intensivist.

A lot of hospitalists became pretensivists during the pandemic.

That hospitalist tried to intubate some lady with a UTI the other day; what a pretensivist.

The pretensivist trying to place central lines? We’ll allow it.

Why doesn’t that pretensivist just do a critical care fellowship? No? Too scared of crashing patients.

Pale Pretense

When a Caucasian person rushes to deem as something racist on behalf of an African American, and by doing so actually perpetuates a racial stereotype.

For example, a comical T-Shirt on sale by Amazon depicting a Tarot Card called “The Tower” (of Pancakes”) with a description of “Black Women’s T-Shirt,” isn’t great grammar, but when the shirt is black in color, it isn’t implying black women fatty up on pancakes or are Voodoo-practicing fortune tellers.

You’ve got it all wrong; it’s just poorly worded and your executing your pale pretense.
