obnoxious minority

A small-medium group in a larger coalition of people (Fandom, Political Party, etc) who do not represent the values or desires of the coalition. However they make so much noise and are so loudly outspoken that they come to represent the coalition as a whole. Often regarded by their peers as "annoying loudmouths".

The opposite of the Silent Majority.

sexual & gender minority

Sexual and gender minority (SGM) populations include, but are not limited to, individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, transgender, two-spirit, queer, and/or intersex. Individuals with same-sex or -gender attractions or behaviors and those with a difference in sex development are also included. These populations also encompass those who do not self-identify with one of these terms but whose sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or reproductive development is characterized by non-binary constructs of sexual orientation, gender, and/or sex.

Allies are critical to the mission of the SGMRO. The SGM need to each be Allies to the other populations within SGM.

SGM is how the Federal Register now refers to queer lgbti people. They have named them a Sexual & Gender Minority population but DC hasn’t offered them protections like every other named minority class. How typical ass backward is that.
