A bidding war is a competition to be the highest bidder on an item. In real life interactions, a bidding war occurs all the time for women in the 18-26 age bracket, with endless amounts of love, attention, and money coming their way from hungry men. Ironically, these women are usually miserable, while any normal man experiencing that kind of bidding war on him for a couple of hours would be ecstatic.
Guy 1: Have you ever experienced the receiving end of Bidding Wars?
Guy 2: Once in my life. Four girls were fighting for me once in a bar. I felt like a complete king for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds. God I need a pussy.

A bid on an online auction site, such as ebay, made by the person who's auctioning an item on an alternate auctioning account. This is used as opposed to a reserve limit, and/or when the owner of the item doesn't feel that the highest bid on their item is enough. That way, it either gets an even higher bid or it isn't sold then.
The man put his car up for auction on ebay with a starting price of $1 because he thought it might have a bid war. He was sadly mistaken, and with only a few hours left, the highest bid was only $1000. But luckily he had another ebay account and made a phantom bid for $5000 so that he would either get what he wanted or not lose his car.

A girl's lacrosse stick. Bid refers to a woman (biddy) and the stick refers to the lacrosse stick she uses that is noticeably different from men's lacrosse sticks.
Guy 1: Yo you see that hot girl over there?
Guy 2: You mean the one carrying the bid stick?
Guy 1: Yeah man. The pocket on that lacrosse stick is so small, how the hell do they cradle those things?

Someone who Bids huge amounts for an item on eBay with no intention of paying either for a joke or to end your item as it is competing with their's.
John: Did you hear about those AK47 £5 notes going on eBay for £80,000.
Joe: No one actually paid 80 grand for a £5 note, it was just bid trolls racking up the price for a laugh.

The act of bidding on something on eBay while intoxicated. In the following days, the drunk bidder hopes that he/she get outbid and doesn't have to pony up the cash.

It is the type of bidding, usually for a house, where the first impressions are very good but it's not what you actually want or need. You then knee jerk bid on it before thinking it through. Magpie bidders usually go away and withdraw their bid rapidly after thinking about it in more detail.
"It 'twinkles' I want it, let's bid now!"
Then sometime in the future:
"Don't like it"
"It 'twinkles' I want it, let's bid now!"
Then sometime in the future:
"Don't like it"
It's ok love, don't cry there will be other bidders. They were clearly just Magpie bidding, can't believe they would mess with people's lives like that.
