Anarchism

The belief that the state is an unecessary oppressive institution that infringes upon the personal liberties of the individual. Anarchists believe that if the state were to collapse, and all means of social and economic organization were left up to the individual, people would associate freely amongst each other and practice more efficent or more favorable socio-economic organizational tactics without the intervention of an external coercive authority.
Proponents of anarchism include Proudhon, Goldman, Chomsky, and Bakunin who are among some of the most famous anarchist philosophers.

anarchism

Anarchism is the belief that authority is unnecessary and harmful. Anarchists oppose the unearned privilege of the upper class, the virtual domestication of humanity, and the absurd notion that Bush is better qualified than you are to run your own life. Anarchism is generally considered a form of socialism that rejects the state as well as capitalism, but some anarchists, particularly primitivists and post-left anarchists, are hard to classify as socialist, per se.

Anarchism has been given a bad name by its associations with wanton violence, punk music, and so on. However, none of these are inherently tied to anarchism (some anarchists have even been pacifists). Nonetheless, the image of the anarchist as a wantonly anti-social rebel has been exploited by many clothing lines and punk bands attempting to cash in on the image.

Anarchism is often confused with ochlocracy, nihilism, objectivism and other forms of laissez faire capitalism, and Nietzscheanism. However, it should be noted that anarchism is, with few exceptions, socialist and consistantly anti-capitalist. While some anarchists do come off as rather nihilistic, the idea itself is not necessarily part of anarchism. Obviously, as well, Nietzscheanism and anarchism have little in common since Nietzsche was a stauch supporter of hierarchy and a defender of slavery.

Common symbols of anarchism include the circle A and the black flag. Well-known anarchists include Emma Goldman, Alexander Berkman, and Peter Kropotkin.
If you want the truth, I suggest you look into the books on anarchism, such as Kropotkin's Conquest of Bread.

Anarcho-Posadism

The ultimate ideology. The truth behind everything. Believers of this ideology thinks the current society and hierarchy needs to be abolished by nuking earth so much that everything starts anew, thus creating a new anarchist utopia. Also there are aliens or something.
"Anarcho-Posadism is when you lob nukes at random people, the more nukes you lob, the more Anarcho-Posadism it is."

―Somebody, probably.
"Can you see any borders from here? What has borders given us? We're going to start over from scratch. That's what V2 is for."

― Larry "Nuke go brrrrr" Foulke, one of the most iconic supporters of this ideology in media.

anarcho-libertarianism

A libertarian who views the abolition of the state as necessary for a free society. Unlike anarcho-capitlaists, an anarcho-libertarian does not seek anarchy as the ultimate goal, but rather as just one facet of a free society.
Libertarians come in all sorts of varieties. Some see the state as necessary for liberty and others see it as a direct violation. Followers of anarcho-libertarianism think the state must be dissolved as part of the process towards freedom.

lifestyle anarchy

A term coined by anarchist Murray Bookchin in his essay "Social Anarchism or Lifestyle Anarchism: An Unbridgeable Chasm"
Lifestyle anarchism is the attitude of an individual that calls himself an anarchist by being heavily individualistic without giving any thought to class struggle and an end to oppression.

A lifestyle anarchist does not concern himself with anarchist goals such as the destruction of hierarchical society, but instead focuses on changes to his own behavior - these can range from a though out (but still not really anarchist) desire to remove oneself from societal norms in the name of one's will, to a mere stereotypical attempt to look like a tough bloke intent on creating disorder.

The word "lifestylist" can be occasionally seen in punk circles, as a form of insult, due to the pervasiveness of 'punks' that spend their time trying to look radical and pogoing to leftist lyrics while never really caring about politics.

HOWEVER, lifestylism has become an all too common insult among anarchists nowadays that promotes sectarianism, by each different anarchist school of thought claiming others are merely lifestylists rather than real anarchists.
A justified use of ' lifestyle anarchy ' -
Calling a group of crust punks that squat an abandoned building and fuck it up with grafitti and broken bottles when they could have just as easily made it an inclusive social center or a shelter.

An unjustified use of ' lifestyle anarchy ' -
Anarchocommunist site Libcom slandering the collective of CrimethInc. as lifestylists because they concern themselves with dropping from society rather than attacking society.
