UR is the abbreviation for Unlock Reality a term derived from the Unlock Reality Manuscript text being shared round the world via bookcrossing. It is also the source of the UR-Effect and the Pre-UR-Effect.

When asking what is UR, the best answer would be, UR is Unlock Reality.

Basically an excuse for Fox TV to only have to spend $30,000 dollars on random street folk and a handycam, so they can tape for twelve hours and get ridiculously high ratings, turning a large profit in the process-originated with shows like COPS, and Candid Camera, and eventually degraded itself to shit like "The Simple Life," "Joe Millionare," and most recently and disgustingly, "The Swan"

Reality Dodger

A person who conciously or sub-conciously opts to neglect the thought of reality applying to him or her. Instead choosing to lead a life of complete fantasy and/or delusion, often funded by credit cards or student loans.

A reality dodger is encapsulated by characters that appear on television programmes such as 'The Hills', 'Living on the Edge', 'The only way is Essex' and 'Jersey Shore'.

Person A: "What are you doing with yourself now you've finished your media degree at Salford Uni?"

Reality-Dodger: "Well you know, I've had a couple of job offers from the city, Barclays Capital, Goldman etc but i'm gonna take a year out and go to Marbella, it's a really good scene".

Person A: "Complete Reality Dodger"
