Newfag

Pop culture's side-bitch. Newfags have no genuine taste of their own, therefore lacking an artistic perspective on ingenuity. As a result, newfags put their efforts into appeasing to one (or more) of the mainstream trends; which just fit the mold of the status quo at present time.

Being a newfag in literal context means to exclusively like what ever is current, and popular, (regardless of what it is) while negating everything else. Newfags are constantly dialed-in to webpages like YouTube Trending, Google Trending, and apps like Instagram and Snapchat, in order to stay in the loop of being bound by society's grip; the mandatory custom of a newfag. Ignorance and bliss.

Guy 01 (newfag): "Hey! Is that metal? What are you listening to?"
Guy 02 (normal): "I'm just listening to some old school Sepultura, man."
Guy 01 (newfag): *Hears word "old" in sentence* "Ew, fuck that old haggard shit. If you're gonna listen to metal; you HAVE to listen to something NEW!" *Mindlessly checks YouTube Trending Page...* "Like this! It's called... Slipknot - All Out Life"
Guy 02 punches Guy 01 deadass in the face, proceeding to move on with his life, while Guy 01's own music selection is blurting out lyrics like:
"Old DOES NOT mean Dead!
New DOES NOT mean Best!
No hard feelings, I'm tired of being right about everything I've said..."

newfoundland

Canada’s eastern-most province and the last to join confederation. Also the most misunderstood province in Canada. They have a rich culture and a vibrant arts community. Many of Canada’s most prominent actors, writers and musicians are from Newfoundland. It’s capital is the oldest city in North America as well. Newfoundlanders are known for being friendly, disarming, unpretentious and hard working. They couldn’t make it as an independent country because they ran a huge debt after helping out England during the Second World War, where they suffered tremendous casualties at Beau Mont Hamel. The anniversary of this battle is July 1, also known as Canada day. They opted to join Canada for financial security, though some believe the vote was fixed. Canada had much to gain from Newfoundland’s rich resources. In fact their resources (fish, oil, energy and population) have been hijacked by Canada. They are self-deprecating and they never complain. They are unfortunately the butt of many stereotypes and crude jokes. They are fiercely patriotic and even have their own independence movement. Hopefully one day they will get the respect they deserve.

Newfoundland is the home of the oldest settlement in North America: L’Anse aux meadows by the Vikings 999-1001.

Newfoundland has a high rate of out-migration. Alberta’s workforce would collapse without Newfoundlanders.

The weather tends to be wet, windy and foggy in Newfoundland, however the temperature very rarely goes below 0 in the winter.

A word used by no-life internet nerd elitists to describe somebody that has not gone into a subject as deeply as the internet nerd did (mostly because the normal person has a life), and the internet nerd acts like a jerk towards the normal person because the normal person (what the nerd calls a "newfag") got a single small detail about a subject wrong.

Between newfags and internet elitists, newfags are the lesser of the two shits because they don't revolve their lives around whats on the internet.

Newfie Fridge

n. Any location in the house, such as the garage or sun-porch, that can substitute for a refrigerator in the winter time. Often used to store Christmas leftovers or beer.

Sometimes this is a Guinea Fridge that is not plugged in due to the extreme Newfoundland winter.

The official language of Newfoundland. The accent found in Newfoundland that when spoken makes mainlanders and other travellers (its usually just mainlanders) confused and disoriented. Irish and french in origin the accent is the part that confuses the unexpecting tourist as english is actually being spoken...but badly; The unsettling chatter that you hear upon getting on the ferry at North Sydney that makes one relapse into it themselves be they newfoundlanders originally.
