nerdcore

Nerdcore hip hop, or geeksta rap, is a subgenre of hip hop music that is performed by nerds or geeks, and is characterized by themes and subject matter considered to be of general interest to nerds, though it can appeal to others as well. Self-described nerdcore musician MC Frontalot coined the term in 2000 in the song "Nerdcore Hiphop". Frontalot, like most nerdcore artists, self-publishes his work and has released much of it for free online. As a niche genre, nerdcore generally holds to the DIY ethic, and has a strong amateur tradition of self-publishing and self-production. The only things required to enter the nerdcore community are a microphone, a computer, and a webserver. No recognized nerdcore albums have ever been released on a major record label, and MP3s, not CDs, are the primary means of distribution.

dork,geek,nerd

A geek is someone who is always heavily into things like rpg, classic sci fi, and loves to argue about it with others or chime in any time they hear someone mention a geek Passion of theirs,whether appropriate to do so or not.

A dork tends to be a person who doesn't really look the part "aka wearing shirts like I'm not a geek, I'm a level 80 warrior" but they often have a love for gaming, in particular video games and team challenge with personal betterment online games. They may dabble in card and board games, again maintaining the temporary nature of an interaction (aka not lengthy involved games such as dnd) They don't usually run around talking to everyone about what they like but will engage if the other says something first.

Now either one can have a little of the other in them or even a little nerd. A nerd is just someone who knows an intense amount on a specific subject, tending to be but NOT limited to electronics and or computer hardware or software

Nerdager

In most cases, a person that was unjustly promoted to be your supervisor at work. Most of their actions prove that they are a nerd, dork or geek, "per se." Can be indentified by wearing bow ties and sweater vests, wearing special “presentation day” outfits, having neck hair or excessive hair gel, having zero personality and by their abundant use of PowerPoint presentations. They also try to impress co-workers by using large words that no one else knows, but end up looking like bigger Nerdagers. Can often be found during slow times at work looking up book reviews online or hanging out w/the Nerd Herd (a group of mid-level Nerdagers).

Ted: Do you like your new boss?

Bob: No way! He’s a total Nerdager. I saw him reading a book by himself at lunch. And he stayed until 10:00 last night even though there was no work to do!
