also, you are said to be left holding when you hold the door open for one person, and 324234 more people walk through back to back, wheras if you let go, your a douchebag.

i was leaving the library with julie but i was left holding when a school of kids decided to walk through. when i finally left to catch up she had already driven home. bummer

Leftist Appropriation

Describes a phenomenon where popular comedy-based websites that were once funny for everyone get taken over by leftist admins, and cease to be funny for anyone not on the far-left of the political spectrum. The archetypal example is cracked.com. Typically, the wealthy leftist admins will choose to be completely oblivious to massive popular displays of disapproval from readers about the direction in which the website is headed (such as disapproving comments in comment sections, large dislike-to-like ratios,etc.). After all, who cares about the opinions of plebs? They're just too stupid to understand that cultural Marxism is in their best interest.

This should not be confused with websites that were always leftist, such as The Onion.

Man, urbandictionary used to be funny, but now the admins only approve or front-page political definitions if they espouse socialism, black supremacy, and third-wave feminism. Total leftist appropriation!

Left, Right and Center

This is a slang that means something is coming from all directions. If things are coming in "left, right and center" they are definitely serious.

The expression comes from the military. In military terms on the battle field the commanders are concerned with getting "flanked" and have to be concerned with the strongest point of attack. When faced with an overwhelming attack which would see the opposition basically over running the defending unit the defending unit would simply refer to it as coming from "left, right and center" meaning everywhere.

In Britain any rich person will have insults coming left, right and center.
