The new conversational phenomenon of removing several letters of a regular word, thus creating a new shortened version of the word.

Shortbonics is creating slang by shortening regular words. "Totally" becomes "totes". "Jealous" becomes "Jeal". For example:

Taylor: "Sandy said my calves look fat in these shoes."
Jessica: "Ugh, don't listen to her, she's just jeal."
Taylor: "Totes jeal."

The area adjacent to the friend zone where a guy has no chance because he is shorter than she is. This is worse than being in the friend zone because, unless you can still grow, you have no hope of moving out of the short zone.
