Bachelor Plate

A Bachelor Plate actually refers to a lack of an actual plate. Most of the time the use of a bachelor plate entails eating over the sink or a trash can in order to avoid cleaning/owning an actual plate.

Man 1: Dude, your steak is ready.

Man 2: Why did you just bring me my steak on a fork? Where is the plate bro?

Man 1: I don’t own any, I use bachelor plates, so you can either eat over the trashcan or the sink, your call.

Man 2: Sink, I call the sink!

A person who goes to insurance, financial or real estate sales presentations where free food is served, who is only there for the free food and is not interested at all in the bullshit being sold.

Sales rep: "Damn plate lickers! Twenty people showed up for the free steak dinner and presentation, but not a single sucker - I mean client - signed up!"

Running in a fashion where your hands look like they are superglued to dinner plates.

John Barrowman, who plays Captain Jack in the BBC TV series "Torchwood", when running or being chased by aliens, runs with the palms of his hands flat and facing each other i.e. 'Platehands". This is meant to create the impression that Jack is "dynamic" and an "action hero", but instead looks like he's been involved in a domestic accident and not had time to attend the casualty ward.
